9 months and counting

Nine months. Really? It's so hard to believe that Braeden's that old! As he gets older I keep thinking each new stage is my favorite. Some people miss the newborn stage, but I really enjoy seeing him grow and develop into his own little person. Days and weeks are filled with new milestones. Most recently he's started pulling forward and almost crawling. He's developed a "frog crawl" that is one of the cutest things in the world. I get so excited over it that I probably scare him! I guess that's part of being a mommy though. Yesterday morning he woke me up fussing. I started to let him fuss through it thinking he'd go back to sleep but went ahead and went into his room. I was greeted by a fussy, stinky baby on all fours. He'd had a major accident but more importantly he was up on all fours, practing, I guess. Nothing like bathing a baby at 530 in the morning! Another fun thing he's learning is to feed himself. He's reached for his food for a long time, but now he can actually successfully feed himself and hold his bottle. Before most things were just smeared onto his face, dropped in his lap or onto the carpet. His dad has been concerned that he's developmentally-delayed, but I think he's acting like his mama and doing things in his own damn time. No one's gonna tell him what to do!

This has just been such an amazing journey. Becoming a mother has helped me to put things in perspective more. I used to have such a temper. Now I realize that most things don't really matter. I have my son, a place to live, a job, some good friends and family. What's more important than that?
