9-11-09 first real haircut

10-05-09 third tooth (somehow I missed writing down the second!)
10-16-09 I heard him say "touchdown" compliments of Kellie and Lauren at daycare! Up til this point he had said dada, mama, nana (banana), uh oh and hi. He also started blowing kisses.
10-17-09 fourth tooth (now he has six but I haven't written down five and six either!)
1-22-10 scheduled for first dentist appointment

Now here we are in January and he's still not talking a lot or at least not much I can decipher! He does babble all the time though! He talks on the phone (or remote or thermometer or random toy) and mimics much of what he sees even if it's not immediate. That is one of the truly fascinating things about babies how they are like little sponges! Braeden is a total monkey! He has recently started climing all over everything and wants to be on top of everything. I try not to stress too much as I know it's a normal part of his development, but it is still alarming to see him on a table or in the glider! Like I've said before, his personality has really started to come through. He has a fierce independent streak, much like his mama. He likes love and cuddles when he wants them otherwise he is more interested in playing and exploring on his own. He has never been one that's been big on being held so this really doesn't come as too much of a surprise. Fortunately we've not had a lot of issues with separation anxiety. I think part of it is his nature and it's also due to him living in two homes, going to two churches and attending daycare. Obviously it's not the ideal situation for a child, but I'm looking at how it's benefited us. :) Oh, his diet: the kid alternates between eating everything and being picky! I'm not sure of the science behind it, but I think there might be a direct correlation between what he prefers and what I ate when I was pregnant: he doesn't like meat, loves cheese, fruit, potatoes, some other vegetables, pasta and bread! Oh, and he got ketchup for the first time last week. Pass. He would actually be content eating ketchup by itself, I think. What is it with kids and ketchup?
Anyway things are going great with our little family! Today is actually two years exactly since I got my BFP (that's Big Fat Positive as in pregnancy test for you non-birthboard educated people)! I remember laughing and feeling quite delirious that day mainly in just shock and disbelief, but here we are now! I wouldn't change it for the world. Braeden has given me a joy that I never knew existed and filled a space that I never was able to fill before. I truly was meant to be a mama! I just wish my mama had gotten to meet him.
